Pathfinder Youth Centre Society, Maple Ridge and Surrey, are accepting applications for our 15 week PAID EMPLOYMENT PROGRAM that will start on NOVEMBER 28TH, 2022.
This program provides paid group instruction, one on one support, industry certifications, employment support, paid work experience and offers many additional supports such as transit tickets, nutrition package, interview clothing, $750 completion bonus and more.
We are here to help you build your confidence and skills so you can put your best foot forward and move into employment with a great resume and personal support to help you navigate any challenges you are facing.
CURRENTLY THE MAJORITY OF OUR PROGRAMMING WILL BE VIA ZOOM VIDEO CONFERENCING. Please let us know if you don’t have dedicated access to a computer for daily program use as we can assist.
Program participants receive 9 weeks of paid (30 hrs/week @ min wage) group training followed by a 6 week employer paid work experience that may lead to continued employment.
Multiple industry certifications and workshops such as Cafe Essentials (Barista Certification), Cashier /Cash Handling, Foodsafe, WHMIS, Serving it Right, Super Host,OFA Level 1, Personal Financial Management and Infection Control for Hospitality will be provided.
Additional industry certifications such as Forklift, BST, Flagging, Fall protection etc.. are available and will be offered based on individual employment goals and/or employer requirements.
The group portion of the program will run between 9am-3:00pm Monday to Friday. Hours for work experience will vary based on employer requirements.
To be considered for this program you must:
– Be between the ages of 16 and 30
– Not currently attending school or working full time
– Legally entitled to work in Canada
– Have employment barriers and need help to secure employment
– Have open availability for the duration of the program
We also offer alternate program options and employment supports, based on Case Manager recommendations, that can include paid life and employment skills training, industry certifications and employment placement assistance in a personalized format.
