OTR Semi-Truck Dispatcher


We are looking for an experienced Over-the-Road Semi-Truck Dispatcher. This is a full-time professional role in a fast-paced, service-driven setting, and requires exceptional people managing skills, a positive attitude, excellent communication skills, and a problem-solving mentality with the ability to make quick decisions.

Job Summary

– Managing drivers and booking loads using the national load boards – DAT & Truckstop
– Coordinate with brokers to ensure on-time delivery by tracking trucks for pick-up, estimating times of arrival and delivery, and recovering loads when necessary
– Cultivate strong relationships with drivers and encourage drivers to ensure optimum performance
– Proactively make decisions to support driver utilization and solve problems related to pick-up/delivery or breakdown issues
– Supervise the plans and activities for each driver including but not limited to dispatching loads, time off requests, pre-trip/post-trip, and equipment maintenance issues


– MINIMUM two years experience in LOAD PLANNING and Over-The-Road Dispatching
– MUST have experience with DAT & Truckstop load boards
– Proficient in Microsoft Office; expertise in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
– Strong problem-solving, decision-making, critical thinking, and negotiations skills
– Ability to set priorities, achieve deadlines and manage multiple tasks at the same time
– Accuracy and attention to detail
– Task-oriented with strong organizational and time management skills
– Knowledge of current DOT regulations
– Industry knowledge and terminology
– Ability to be on-call after hours and on weekends is a MUST

Position Information:

Pay Structure: 1099 – Contractor – Paid Weekly
Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (hours are flexible) MUST be able to take calls after hours and on weekends
