The Mechanic Shop Technician diagnoses and repairs trucks, construction & farm equipment and small tools. Other duties include inspecting vehicles, performing routine service, ordering parts and keeping records of work done.

The Mechanic Shop Technician performs a wide variety of manual tasks, including:
• Rebuild, replace, or repair parts such as engines, brakes, transmission lines, hydraulic lines, electrical assemblies, and accessories.
• Follow safety procedures at all times to avoid injuries and/or damage to equipment
• Maintain and clean shop equipment and tools to ensure they are kept in a safe and usable condition at all times
• Performs preventative maintenance on trucks and equipment
• Inspect and evaluate condition of systems, equipment, accessories, and lights; service as needed
• Perform other duties as assigned by management

Physical Demands
• Ability to walk/stand on concrete for prolonged periods of time
• Ability to bend, kneel, reach and balance
• Ability to perform repetitive tasks, manual dexterity
• Some heavy lifting of parts required
• Frequent exposure to various weather conditions, toxic chemicals, exhaust fumes, gasoline, diesel fuel, and oil

• Valid PA Driver’s License required
• Ability to adapt to and work effectively with a changing environment
• Ability to fabricate, cut and weld
• Proficiency with shop tools, equipment, diagnostic equipment
