The Role:
The housekeeping role is responsible for the cleaning of all guest rooms and common areas. Housekeeping is the foundation of a good hotel. We are a charming, historic, and fun hotel that prides itself on making memorable experiences for guests. First and foremost, the hotel must be clean! Housekeeping is the key to a good day at the hotel. Housekeepers must be team players who will be on time, ready to work, and excited to share in the success of the hotel with each guest’s positive experience. Additionally, all staff are encouraged to find ways to “wow” the guest and enhance the guest experience.

The housekeeping role is responsible for:
• Cleaning and making up guest rooms to hotel standards
• Maintaining room supplies in guest rooms, i.e. paper supplies, amenities, linens, etc.
• Ensuring all features of room are working properly and if repairs needed clearly communicate with hotel maintenance team
• Checking all equipment in guest rooms to ensure everything is in proper working order and reporting to maintenance any items in need of fixing or concern
• Finding and safeguarding lost and found items left in guest rooms
• Assisting in laundry area and keeping a tidy working environment
• Cleaning and maintaining of the cleanliness of the common areas
• *Added bonus* Ability to go above and beyond for guests prior to check in as well as during their stay


Minimum Qualifications:
• Must be well organized and able to work independently
• Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment
• Must be able to work with a variety of different cleaning agents and understand their uses and safety procedures
• Must possess critical thinking and problem solving skills
• Must have a good attitude and be a team player
• Must be able to communicate with the rest of the team
• Must be willing to use technology of hotel

Education and/or Experience:
• High School/GED diploma – preferred
• Experience in a hotel or resort preferred but not mandatory

Language Skills:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to effectively respond to questions from managers, clients, customers and the general public.

Physical Requirements:
• Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time
• Must be able to carry supplies up multiple flights of stairs
• Must be able to kneel, crouch, stoop and bend
• Must be able to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls
• Must be able to reach with hands and arms
• Requires visual acuity and ability to hear to communicate with managers, coworkers and guests
• Must be able to lift 30+ lbs. and go up and down stairs
